fall offering: MBSR

Everyone carries stress. Everyone experiences suffering. We are also equipped with wondrous capacities for resilience and creativity. One key to accessing creative response to whatever arises is mindfulness. We can rediscover our innate gifts of compassion and curiosity with some patience and a little bit of practice. If you'd like to find out how, please do join me.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based, secular exploration of the practice of mindfulness, embodiment and lived experience. Developed in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, this program has supported thousands of people over the years, transforming lives. The course offers a well-established, 8-week journey toward greater peace, creativity and resilience. More information about MBSR is available here.
The course is comprised of guided mindfulness meditations, gentle movement, personal reflection and inquiry held within a supportive community. It is ideal for those new to mindfulness as well as long-time meditation practitioners interested in strengthening their practice by reviewing the basics of mindfulness. People are drawn to MBSR for countless reasons: to relieve stress, to tend to physical and emotional pain, to establish a regular practice of mindfulness, to reconnect with their own authenticity. All are welcome.
