What do we have to do to survive?

Just witness it for now. See it all happening. Every burned down home, every flooded bridge and basement. Ceilings caving in, supports washed away. What if it were just information? Just language, a text to read. Maybe an unintelligible language, it's just not making sense yet. The conjugations and word order are peculiar. A constant stream of sound without distinctions, impossible to tell where one word ends and another begins. No context clues either, it's all just happening. Bailing out the sinking ship or carrying buckets to quench the fires. No time to think. No such thing as stopping for reflection or rest. Now it's a matter of survival. Right? What do we have to do to survive?
